Due to being very fortunate in receiving Lottery Community Funding we at SODIT are able to help bring statutory services, people that have used or are using services & their carers and the VCSE sector (Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise) in a series of workshops aimed at connecting communities and championing the use of co-production. Co-production is in essence the sharing of power between those who provide services and the people who use these services (and their family, friends & carers) in the commissioning, planning and delivery of services. This results in an equal partnership in the designing of statutory services and builds relationships between communities and professionals. ‘Nothing about us without us’. These workshops are aimed at everyone that would like to see the use of co-production embedded throughout all services. They are intended to be educational but also enjoyable and will hopefully result in a better understanding of co-production and its value to everyone. The workshops are stand alone so it isn’t essential to book on each one and there will also be a Festival of Co-Production on the 6th of July which heralds the start of SCIE’s (Social Care Institute for Excellence) week of Co-Pro celebration. If you are a user of statutory services or support someone who is, are a provider of MH services or are a member of a VCSE organisation please register to come along to one of our workshops and help us make Co-production a reality.
